A Judicial reform plan with the untouchable plan and secret kill plan and Muhyiddin Killer Plan

Badawi : Judicial reforms today & Regret to sacked Judges Extracted from

The Straits Times, Singapore by Leslie Lopez, South-east Asia Correspondent

• Judicial Commission to appoint judges
• Greater independence for the judiciary
• Financial compensation to sacked judges
• Expression of regret by PM Abdullah

FIGHTING back stiff opposition from his own Cabinet and administration, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is set to unveil major reforms to the country's much-maligned judiciary.

The reforms will include the setting up of a Judicial Commission that will be responsible for the selection and the promotion of judges. It will also feature changes to the Federal Constitution that will restore greater independence to the judiciary, senior government officials and lawyers said.

The reform agenda, which will be announced at a special dinner hosted jointly by the government and the country's Bar Council tonight, will also see Datuk Seri Abdullah make an expression of regret over the 1988 judicial saga that led to the sacking of the country's top judge.
The government's effort to make amends to the jurists disgraced by the events in 1988 will also include some form of financial compensation, one senior government official involved in the judicial reform plan told The Straits Times on condition of anonymity.' More..

Mahathir still untouchable by the law?

That both the previous AG Mohtar and current AG Gani appeared to have acted dubiously with regards to these scandals involving Mahathir should come as no surprise, if we know their questionable role in the sham trials of Anwar Ibrahim.

Kim Quek

Despite being out of power for almost five years, former autocrat Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad appears to be still enjoying immunity from the long arms of our law enforcement bodies, just like in the good old days of his rule. This is the irresistible conclusion from events surrounding the revived controversy over Mahathir’s alleged interference in an Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) investigation on a former Director General (DG) of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) during Mahathir’s reign.

During the second trial (on sodomy) on Anwar Ibrahim, former DG of ACA Shafee Yahya testified on 12th June 2000 that Mahathir angrily told Shafee to stop investigating then DG of EPU Ali Abu Hassan Sulaiman. Shafee had earlier (in 1998) raided Ali’s office and found large amount of unaccounted for cash (RM100,000) in the latter’s drawer. More.....

Are we sure there are no secret executions in Malaysia?

No “secret” executions in Malaysia? Then how come you and I do not know who is on the list of execution or not? The process is not transparent and is indeed “shrouded in secrecy”. We are a country that practices the death penalty and so far it is quite unknown to us what is happening in this area.

The police department should stop behaving like politicians and behave more like the civil “servants” that they are. Be more responsive, and not defensive.

Well, it all happenned like this:

First newspaper reports stated that (in reference to the International NGO’s 2007 report, released in London on April 15):

The amnesty report “expressed deep concern” that many more people were killed secretly in countries such as Mongolia, Vietnam and Malaysia.

Then the police refuted the allegations with Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Ismail Omar vehemently denying the allegations, saying Malaysia should not be included in such a category. More....

17/4/2008 Selanjutnya.....

Doa saya termakbul - Tun Salleh

Pelan Peralihan Kuasa Idea Siapa?

Obama urges voters not to forget Clinton's past

Barack Obama wants to make sure that voters do, even if it was 16 years ago that Hillary Rodham Clinton created an uproar when she sniffed that she could have given up her career and "stayed home, baked cookies and had teas."

While Clinton brought up the problems Obama could face in a general election if he's nominated, Obama used a two-hour debate Wednesday night to remind Americans what they don't like about his opponent and her husband, Bill, the former president. Both candidates argued they were tough enough to withstand whatever Republicans try to use against them.
